Serving people for more than 60 years.
The year was 1946. The city of Tulsa was buzzing with excitement. It had become the “oil capital of the world” and commerce was thriving. Plus, the Arkansas River Basin development had turned Tulsa into one of the first inland port cities in the United States. It was in the middle of this excitement and economic growth that the Farmers & Merchants Bank got its humble beginnings.
The founders, a group of local businessmen, established a bank that was devoted to Tulsa and its citizens’ success. Deposits grew at a rapid pace and F&M quickly opened the city’s first successful drive-in banking facility. It didn’t take long for F&M to earn a reputation as a responsive and innovative bank. We began to add new offices in Dallas to serve a rapidly growing customer base. By putting customers first, F&M quickly became a major financial institution for individual and commercial customers alike.
A lot has changed in the banking world since we first opened, but one thing definitely hasn’t. We’re just as committed today to our customers and their goals and aspirations as we were 60 years ago. We still recognize that you, the customer, are responsible for our success and each day we go to work to see how we can be responsible for yours.
It’s that focus that has kept us steadfast in such a turbulent economy and has motivated us to keep raising the bar instead of seeing how low it can go before anybody notices. And while we’re proud of our history, we’ll never lose sight of what we can do for you today and tomorrow.
We’re The F&M Bank & Trust Company.
