Are you thinking of taking your business global? We can help. F&M is experienced in international trade solutions.
We can show you how working with Export-Import Bank of the United States can assist you in financing sales to foreign buyers through working capital lines of credit, term loans and credit insurance.
F&M issues both commercial (import) letters of credit and standby letters of credit. We also provide advisory services on export letters of credit and help you understand the terms of the letter of credit.
Working Capital - pre-shipment working capital lines of credit, qualified through Ex-Im, allow clients to finance the materials and labor costs to produce capital goods to a specific foreign buyer (or groups of buyers).
Medium and long-term loans, qualified through Ex-Im, provide financing for buyers to support sale of U.S. capital goods and services. We can provide other risk mitigation tools such as credit insurance, where qualified, covering non-payment of your export sale receivables.
Letters of Credit - Export Letters of Credit act as the method of payment for overseas sales. A confirmation can be added to reduce country risk.
Commercial Letters of Credit - most frequently used in international trade for import transactions, facilitate the purchase of sales of merchandise by guaranteeing that the seller will receive payment if the buyer receives the merchandise as specified in the contract.
Standby Letters of Credit - most frequently used in domestic transactions, are issued to secure a customer’s performance or financial obligation to another party. Standby Letters of Credit are not intended to be drawn on, except in the event that the applicant defaults under their obligations to the beneficiary.
Foreign Bid Bonds - used when providing tenders or bids to foreign buyers located in certain countries.
Foreign Performance Bank Guarantees - issued to secure and advance payment or warranty to foreign buyers located in certain countries.
