On October 3, 2008, Congress temporarily increased FDIC deposit insurance from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through
December 31, 2009.
On October 14, 2008, the FDIC announced a voluntary program providing full deposit insurance coverage on non-interest bearing
deposit transaction accounts through December 31, 2009, regardless of the amount. F&M Bank is participating in this program.
